In case anyone missed the action while getting their grill on this Presidents’ Day weekend, here’s a quick look at how Big 12 and local schools did in their basketball games.

No.2 Houston Cougars (25-2, 13-1, first in American Athletic Conference)

Last Game: No.2 Houston 72, Memphis 64

Houston wins its seventh consecutive game behind 20-point performances from J’Wan Roberts and Marcus Sasser. While Memphis cut the lead to four in the second half, the Cougars led the whole game and put it away with a 9-2 run.

Noteworthy: Houston has won 16 of its last 17 games and is poised to be ranked No.1 when the newest AP Top 25 Poll is released on Monday.

Next Up: Tulane at No.2 Houston, 8 p.m. CT Wednesday.

No.6 Texas Longhorns (21-6, 10-4, T-first in Big 12)

Last Game: No.6 Texas 85, Oklahoma 83 (Overtime)

Texas used a 12-4 run in the second half to erase a seven-point deficit and led by three with 11 seconds remaining. Oklahoma’s Grant Sherfield knocked down a three in the final seconds to force overtime, where Texas’ guards stepped up to finish out a win.

Noteworthy: Texas is off to its best start since the 2010-11 season and is now 7-0 in games within five points or less or in overtime under interim head coach Rodney Terry.

Next Up: No.19 Iowa State at No.6 Texas, 8 p.m. CT Tuesday.

No.9 Baylor Bears (20-7, 9-5, third in Big 12)

Last Game: No.5 Kansas 87, No.9 Baylor 71

Baylor actually held a 17-point lead in this one but was outscored 55-26 in the second half. Trailing 45-32 at the half, the Jayhawks went on a 20-4 run over the first six minutes of the second half to seize control of the game.

Noteworthy: Baylor had multiple players score at least 20 points for the eighth time this season. The Bears are now 1-20 all-time against Kansas on the road.

Next Up: No.9 Baylor at No.12 Kansas State, 6 p.m. CT Tuesday.

No.22 TCU Horned Frogs (18-9, 7-7, T-sixth in Big 12)

Last Game: No.22 TCU 100, Oklahoma State 75

TCU used a late first-half run and hot shooting streak to build a 20-point halftime lead and carried it into the second half. The Horned Frogs shot 68.4% from the field, which was just shy of the conference record.

Noteworthy: TCU guard and Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year Mike Miles Jr. played for the first time since injuring his knee on January 28 against Mississippi State. He scored 15 points in 35 minutes to help the Horned Frogs win their sixth consecutive home game.

Next Up: No.5 Kansas at No.22 TCU, 8 p.m. CT Monday.

North Texas Mean Green (23-5, 14-3, second in Conference USA)

Next Game: North Texas 80, UTEP 72 (Overtime)

UNT was tested in this game, as it led by just a point after the first half. UTEP increased its lead to 11 with about 10 minutes remaining in the game and forced overtime with a late layup after a Mean Green run. Five points by UNT’s Moulaye Sissoko in less than a minute helped North Texas survive in overtime.

Noteworthy: North Texas has now won eight consecutive games. The program record is 15, set by last year’s team, which won the Conference USA regular season title.

Next Up: North Texas at Charlotte, 6 p.m. CT Thursday.

Oklahoma Sooners (13-14, 3-11, last in Big 12)

Last Game: No.6 Texas 85, Oklahoma 83

Oklahoma fought against Texas again, but the Longhorns’ backcourt stepped up in overtime.

Noteworthy: Oklahoma lost both its games against the Longhorns this season by three combined points.

Next Up: Texas Tech at Oklahoma, 8 p.m. CT Tuesday.

Oklahoma State Cowboys (16-11, 7-7, T-sixth in Big 12)

Last Game: No.22 TCU 100, Oklahoma State 75

Oklahoma State could not stop TCU on a day when the Horned Frogs rarely missed shots.

Noteworthy: Oklahoma State beat TCU earlier this month but could not complete the sweep in Fort Worth. The two teams are now tied in the Big 12 standings with 7-7 records in conference play.

Next Up: Oklahoma State at West Virginia, 6 p.m. CT Monday.

SMU Mustangs (10-18, 5-10, eighth in American Athletic Conference)

Last Game: SMU 86, East Carolina 70

SMU’s second half made all the difference in this one. The Mustangs led 35-28 at the half, scoring 51 points in the second half and leading by as many as 20 to earn a home win.

Noteworthy: SMU guard Zhuric Phelps had his first double-double with 15 points and 10 assists. The Mustangs have won three of their last four home games.

Next Up: SMU at South Florida, 6 p.m. CT Saturday.

Texas A&M Aggies (20-7, 12-2, second in SEC)

Last Game: Texas A&M 69, Missouri 60

A&M jumped out to a five-point lead and never looked back, as Missouri could not cut the deficit to less than eight points. Wade Taylor IV led three Aggies scoring in double figures with 21 points.

Noteworthy: Texas A&M is now 12-2 in the SEC — its best start to conference play in program history.

Next Up: No.10 Tennessee at Texas A&M, 6 p.m. CT Tuesday.

Texas Tech Red Raiders (15-12, 4-10, T-eighth in Big 12)

Last Game: Texas Tech 78, West Virginia 72

Jaylon Tyson and Fardaws Aimaq led Texas Tech with 25 combined points in the second half as the Red Raiders pulled out a road win to move out of last place in the conference. Tech trailed by eight with 8:41 remaining but went on an 11-0 run in 2:40 to take a three-point lead and held off the Mountaineers late in the game.

Noteworthy: Texas Tech earned its first road win in Big 12 play and its third consecutive Big 12 win for the first time this season.

Next Up: Texas Tech at Oklahoma, 8 p.m. CT Tuesday.
