Houston jumped out to a 6-0 lead as Chas McCormick, Yainer Diaz, and Kyle Tucker all homered Martin Perez, and the lead grew to 10-2 after another blast from Jose Abreu.
Travis Jankowski and Leody Tavera led the Rangers’ rally, combining for six hits and eight RBIs while each hitting a home run, and Adolis Garcia’s team-leading 21st home run of the season tied the game at 10 in the seventh. Texas took the lead in the eighth, but Abreu and McCormick helped Houston avoid a complete collapse in the ninth.
Noteworthy: Texas’ lead in the AL West is down to three games.
— The Rangers went 3-5 during their eight-game homestand, their first with a losing record this season.
— Jankowski had a career-high five RBIs Monday, and his home run was his first since June 2021.
— Texas begins a six-game road trip in Boston on Tuesday. The Rangers are 25-27 all-time on the Fourth of July and have lost seven of their last eight games on the holiday.

Frisco RoughRiders (34-40, fourth in Texas League South division, seventh in AA Texas League)
Last Game: RoughRiders 11, San Antonio Missions 3
A Scott Hatcher single broke a 1-1 tie in the second, and Scott Kapers followed with a sacrifice fly to give Frisco a 3-1 lead. The RoughRiders followed that with a four-run third and a three-run fifth to pull away, as Frisco’s pitching held San Antonio scoreless over the last six innings.
Noteworthy: Frisco and San Antonio split the series 3-3, the fourth consecutive split for the RoughRiders.
— Frisco is now 3-3 in the second half of the season.
— Outfielder Evan Carter entered the game hitting .436 over his last 10 and went 3-4 with a solo home run to kick off the scoring.
— Texas Rangers No.22 prospect Dane Acker threw four innings, allowing three runs on three hits while striking out five in his first appearance after being promoted to Double-A on Monday.
