Oregon commit Stephon Johnson is eager to give the Ducks a preview of what he can do for their offense as a member of the DeSoto football team.

It was in late April when word that Johnson, a 6-foot, 175-pound wide receiver, left Lancaster for DeSoto made the rounds.

“Being told Oregon commit WR Stephon Johnson transferred from Lancaster early last week and enrolled at DeSoto,” sports reporter Matt Stepp tweeted at the time.

In his junior and last season with Lancaster, Johnson hauled in eight touchdowns on an average of 23.5 yards per catch.

The Tigers put together a 10-1 mark in 2020 that included an undefeated romp through District 6-5A.

Johnson will suit up a DeSoto team that also won 10 games last year.

The web site 247 Sports reported that he chose Oregon over Arizona State, Arkansas, and Colorado.
