‘On to round 4’: FM Marcus stymies late Plano rally to advance to next round_60f5de0b3ae7c.jpeg

The Flower Mound Marcus baseball team endured a late surge from Plano to win Game 2 and the Class 6A Region I quarterfinal series at Dallas Baptist University’s (DBU) Homer Ballpark on May 21.

The Marauders jumped out to a 7-2 lead on the strength of Tyler Schott’s perfect evening at bat.

Schott would also take the bump to help Marcus put down a Plano comeback attempt late in the contest.

“On to round 4,” Mike Anderson of the Flower Mound Police Department tweeted following the game.

With the game having been played at DBU, Schott, who signed a National Letter of Intent with the NCAA Division I school some 30 miles away from his doorstep, gave the Patriots faithful a preview of what to expect from him next spring.

Marcus draws another Metroplex foe in Southlake Carroll in the next round of their journey to Round Rock.
