The McDonald’s All-American Game is an annual basketball game featuring the best high school players in the country, split into east-west teams.

The rosters for the edition this year were announced earlier this week, and a record five Dallas-area natives were selected to the male team.

The honorees are Keyonte George (Lewisville), Cason Wallace (Richardson), Jordan Walsh (Oak Cliff), Arterio Morris (Dallas), and Anthony Black (Duncanville).

Keyonte George is rated as the 4th overall prospect in 247Sports basketball prospect rankings and signed on to attend Baylor University. In October 2021, George transferred from iSchool of Lewisville to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Cason Wallace is the 8th overall recruit in 247Sports rankings and will be attending the University of Kentucky. He is part of a Richardson High School team that is having a phenomenal season. Currently, Richardson is 23-1 and ranked as the No.1 team in the Class 6A Texas Association of Basketball Coaches (TABC) rankings.

Jordan Walsh is the 18th overall rated recruit by 247Sports and signed to the University of Arkansas. In September 2021, he transferred from Faith Family Academy in Oak Cliff to Link Academy in Branson, Missouri. Walsh was a member of the state championship-winning team for Faith Family in 2019.

Arterio Morris is ranked as the 19th overall prospect by 247Sports and will be attending the University of Texas. His Justin Kimball High School in Dallas is currently 17-6 and the No.3 team in Class 5A per the TABC rankings.

Anthony Black is the 22nd best high school basketball prospect, according to 247Sports. His Duncanville High School team is currently 21-1 and ranked No.2 in the Class 6A TABC rankings. Their lone loss on the season was against No.1 Richardson. Black is the only player selected to the All-American team who has not committed to a college. The predicted favorite to earn his signature is Oklahoma State. Still, Baylor and Gonzaga are also considered potential landing spots for Black.

Other members of the 2022 All-American team attending Texas colleges include Dillon Mitchell and Jarace Walker.

Mitchell, the 14th ranked prospect by 247Sports out of Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida, is signed to the University of Texas.

Walker is the 9th ranked prospect out of IMG Academy and is verbally committed to the University of Houston.

The previous record for most Dallas-area players in the McDonald’s All-American game was three in 2016. Then, the honorees were Marques Bolden (DeSoto), Terrance Ferguson (Dallas), and Andrew Jones (Irving).

There were no Dallas-area natives selected for the female team this year. The only female chosen for the team attending a Texas college is Darianna Littlepage-Buggs, a Baylor-commit from Classen High School in Oklahoma City.

The McDonald’s All-American game has not been held the last two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Still, it is currently scheduled for March 29 at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago.
