Three Dallas-Fort Worth area high schools were among the six UIL boys’ basketball state champions crowned over the weekend in San Antonio.

With Lancaster High School, Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy, and Plano East all taking home titles with convincing victories, the DFW area swept the 4A, 5A, and 6A championships for a second consecutive season.

Plano East highlighted the weekend with a 53-41 win over Round Rock Stony Point in the 6A state championship game — handing the Tigers their second loss of the season and finishing the year as the state’s only undefeated team at 40-0.

The Panthers leaned on their defense, forcing 20 turnovers and holding Stony Point to just six points in the fourth quarter, while forward DJ Hall led the way with 18 points to help Plano East win its first state championship in any sport.

The junior forward, a three-star prospect, according to 247Sports, was named MVP of the championship game.

Lancaster came away with a 59-30 win over Killeen Ellison to win its 24th straight game and take the 5A state title. The Tigers held the Eagles to single-digit scoring totals in each quarter, while forwards Dillon Battie (committed to Temple) and Amari Reed (a three-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class) combined for 31 points and 27 rebounds in a dominant victory.

Battie was named the game’s MVP after a 17-point, 19-rebound, four-block performance.

Oak Cliff Faith Family Academy repeated as the 4A state champ with an 80-66 win over Silsbee. The win gives the Eagles their third straight boys’ basketball state championship since losing the 2020-2021 state title game to Argyle.

The Eagles were challenged with several games against some of the top teams nationwide during the regular season but strung together 13 straight wins to finish the year with another championship. Guard Isaac Williams, committed to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi for next season, led Oak Cliff Faith with 32 points on a perfect 14-14 shooting night from the field.
