The 2024 U.S. Gymnastics Championships are coming to North Texas.

USA Gymnastics recently announced that Fort Worth’s Dickies Arena will host the event next year in the lead-up to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.

“A number of cities around the country bid on the 2024 Xfinity U.S. Gymnastics Championships, which during an Olympic year assumes an even higher profile,” USA Gymnastics told The Dallas Express in an email. “Fort Worth offers a great venue, convenient transportation and plenty of hotel rooms, and the Texas Event Trust Fund Program helps offset event expenses, which enables us to continue to raise the bar for the event and create the best experience for athletes and fans.”

“Fort Worth Sports is a terrific partner with world-class experience who delivered a well-attended and exciting 2021 U.S. Championships. We look forward to returning in 2024,” the organization added.

Dickies Arena opened in 2019 and is no stranger to hosting high-profile events. The venue has hosted concerts, college basketball games, monster truck rallies, and motocross races throughout its four years of operation, as well as the U.S. Gymnastics Championships in 2021 and the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics National Championships earlier this year.

“Being selected to host the national championships again is an amazing honor,” said Matt Homan, president and general manager of arena operator Trail Drive Management, per a press release. “The Dickies Arena team is thrilled and ready to welcome the athletes and fans … for one of the most exciting and esteemed competitions in the sport.”

The 2024 U.S. Gymnastics Championships will consist of four days of competition to determine male and female gymnastics champions. The event will also help determine who will be going to the U.S. National Team Trials, which will be held in Minneapolis in late June.

Over 150 athletes and thousands of fans are expected to drop $7.4 million in Fort Worth when Dickies Arena hosts the event from May 30 to June 2.

“We truly value our partnership with USA Gymnastics and we couldn’t be more excited to host this prestigious championship and welcome the best gymnasts and fans in the country to experience all Fort Worth has to offer,” Executive Director of the Fort Worth Sports Commission Jason Sands said in the press release.
