An American at the Border

I traveled recently to my country of origin, which is a member of the EU and a strong US ally. I was not allowed to board on the flight back to Dallas. Fair enough. It was my fault. I had neglected my passport situation.

I had to wait in that foreign country, while the US government was checking my status. So does everyone who doesn’t possess the necessary papers to enter in the US.

There weren’t any human rights advocates to contact me and help me.

Now I start asking myself some questions.

The day when I, an American citizen, was not allowed to enter into the country, over thousands were allowed to enter the US illegally. They did not have any papers, they were not citizens. Only a fraction of them would ever get a court approval to stay in the country.

A friend of mine, an American citizen, married a Brazilian girl. Their Golgotha with the paperwork and the procedures took 2 years. During that time, she wasn’t allowed on American soil. They had to prove their relationship is real. Which means, showing pictures, videos, chats, the most intimate stuff, to the immigration services. Are we asking illegal aliens any of this?

Oh, I’m neither mad for the 15 years in a row that I had to wait, while I applied for a Green card. I had to wait for my luck to work, and when finally I won the lottery, I had to:

  • Present proof of education
  • Produce proof of professional skills
  • Pass a criminal background check
  • All members of my family, including the toddler: pass a medical exam in a US-authorized clinic, which was expensive
  • Had to pass an interview in English
  • Pay $750 for every member of my family, including the toddler, for visas

The human rights advocates never showed up to help me and my family. They never do, and never help anyone who follows the law. Advocates only help a crowd where only 2% are eligible to enter.

So the questions I’m asking myself are:

  • If a US citizen is not allowed to enter the US and wait until their case is resolved, why are millions of illegals allowed?
  • On what basis did we allow the 2 million illegals that crossed the border only in 2021, and the total of 20+ millions, to enter the country and most of them stay indefinitely?

What human rights are the always leftist advocates defending? Why didn’t they defend me, or people like me?

  • We should call them “Smuggling facilitators”, “Democratic party activists”, “Impostors”, “Scammers”… and that would be more accurate because they pick selectively who’s rights to defend..

What our government is doing right now, and the human rights advocates, and the media, is a mockery of the legal order of this country. Rules apply to some. Law has back-doors. Violating the law is actually a good thing. Sounds familiar? Well, that’s the definition of a totalitarian society, where the government gives special treatment to some.

As a legal immigrant, I never received free medical care, or any of the freebies illegal aliens receive. What is wrong with me and the millions of people who are asked to go through a painful process, while millions of others are not?

Please ask your Democrat representatives to answer these questions!

Everyone who wants to become an American, should prove that they possess the professional skills and the education that America needs.

Not some!
