Ukrainian forces claim to have attacked a Russian military equipment depot in Ukraine, causing a series of explosions. Zenger News obtained footage of the aerial assault from the elite Ukrainian Air Assault Forces (DShV) on Thursday.
The footage begins with an overhead view of plumes of smoke appearing in quick succession over a large building, followed by a fire, as evidenced by a thick, black cloud rising as the footage ends.
Ukrainian Air Assault Forces also claimed that the Russians suffered casualties during the assault but did not specify how many. The exact location of the strike on Ukrainian soil was not identified, nor was the date of the attack given.
The DShV boasted that “units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine do not give the aggressor time to rest. After reconnaissance operations, artillery units of the Air Assault Forces and the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine started a fire on a base of concentration and maintenance of enemy military equipment.”
It has been more than four months since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as of June 30, “Russia [has] lost about 35,600 personnel, 3,726 armored combat vehicles, 1,573 tanks, 104 air defense systems, 246 multiple launch rocket systems, 790 artillery units, 185 helicopters, 14 warships, 143 cruise missiles, 2,606 motor vehicles and 61 units of special equipment.”
“We continue to perform combat missions and destroy the enemies of Ukraine,” the DShV said in a statement. “Death to the Russian occupiers! Together to victory! Glory to Ukraine!”
There has been no comment from Russian military sources regarding the alleged assault on the depot.
