Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) faced more criticism online after a video surfaced showing her using different speaking styles in recent public appearances.

The Daily Wire reported that Crockett “dramatically changed her speech patterns” depending on the audience. In one clip, she used a formal tone, while in another she shifted to a more casual cadence. The contrast drew widespread mockery across social media.

During the same appearance, Crockett launched a critique of Republicans.

“Baby, cuz deez people, day are crazy, because they always talking bout how Christian they is, yet I don’t know how many dem on dat side are getting divorced cuz they gettin’ caught up sleepin’ with they coworkers, staffers, interns, all the things,” she said. “Yeah, you ain’t gotta believe me, just go Google, you’ll find some of it. I’m telling’ you, and the wives is bein’ messy and petty …”

Comedian Joe DeVito said, “Her code switch is broken,” suggesting that the Texas Democrat’s attempt at altering her style had backfired. Another wrote, “This is so embarrassing,” while others described her delivery as “inauthentic.”

The Daily Wire noted that Crockett “seemed to go out of her way” to highlight her change in tone. Commentators argued the shift looked rehearsed rather than natural.

Crockett has previously defended her communication style, saying she adapts naturally to different environments. “I don’t ever try to be anybody other than who I am,” she said in past interviews. She has not directly addressed the latest backlash.

The controversy comes as Crockett’s national profile grows. She has become a vocal figure among House Democrats and frequently clashes with Republicans during high-profile hearings. Supporters say her fiery style energizes Democratic voters, while critics often target her remarks for ridicule.

The Dallas Express previously reported on another controversy involving Crockett, when former President Donald Trump amplified questions about her private school background and “stolen valor” claims.

The episode highlights how quickly online commentary can escalate when questions of authenticity arise.
