Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has reportedly been expelled from the House Freedom Caucus (HFC).

Greene (R-GA) was voted out this week after HFC Chairman Scott Perry (R-PA) tried but was unsuccessful in reaching out to her for dialogue, according to reporting from Axios.

Tensions had been brewing for a while.

Greene backed Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) bid for speaker and — when acting as speaker — his effort to corral support for the debt ceiling deal. This deal was unpopular with the most conservative members of Congress that make up the membership of the HFC, as previously covered in The Dallas Express.

The representative from Georgia also reportedly butted heads with a few HFC members, including Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO).

Greene allegedly called Boebert “a little b***h” on the House floor as she accused her of copying her articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden, according to The Daily Beast.

The vote to oust Greene from HRC was confirmed to the press by Rep. Andy Harris (R-MD) on Friday.

“A vote was taken to remove Marjorie Taylor Greene from the House Freedom Caucus for some of the things she’s done,” said Harris, according to USA Today.

Harris also indicated that Greene’s support for McCarthy and her feud with Boebert factored into her expulsion.

“I think all of that mattered,” Harris told Politico.

“I think the way she referred to a fellow member was probably not the way we expect our members to refer to other fellow, especially female, members. … the straw that broke the camel’s back was publicly saying things about another member in terms that no one should,” said Harris, per Politico.

Since news broke of her severed relationship with her most conservative colleagues, Greene has been active on Twitter defending former President Donald Trump in reference to his classified documents case as well as promoting her bill requiring proof of citizenship to vote.

However, she has made no mention of the HFC vote.
