College Station welcomed the head of the FBI on Wednesday night at Texas A&M University, where he spoke to a crowd of several hundred.

Director Christopher Wray spoke to 700 students and community leaders at the Bush School of Government and Public Service about the importance of service and current events in the United States.

As tensions rise among the U.S., Russia, China, and Iran, Wray said he expects hostile nations to act more aggressively in efforts to threaten the U.S.

“Front and center is that expanded threat from China. And as I’ve said before, there is no doubt that the greatest long-term threat to our nation’s ideas, our economic security, and our national security is that posed by the Chinese Communist government,” Wray said to the crowd, according to WBTX 3.

Wray also encouraged students from A&M to apply to the FBI, saying that Texas A&M has been a great feeder to the agency.

Relations between the U.S. and China took another turn after Wednesday’s meeting between House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen, the same day as Wray’s Texas appearance.

The two met in California at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, Fox News reported.

In response to the meeting, China announced sanctions on several American organizations, including the Reagan Library.

The announcement came Friday as China continues to make moves to flex its military strength over Taiwan.

David Trulio, president and CEO of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute, said the organization would continue to live up to Reagan’s legacy.

“The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation and Institute is proud of its decision to host a bipartisan meeting between members of the United States House of Representatives, led by Speaker Kevin McCarthy, and Tsai Ing-wen, the President of Taiwan, and her delegation,” Trulio said, according to Fox News. “We will not shy away from living up to President Reagan’s expectation that the library bearing his name be a ‘dynamic intellectual forum.'”

The FBI is the biggest facilitator of domestic “terror” events now. They find damaged people, train them, arm them, and wind them up to commit a terrorist act that the FBI may or may not stop in time.
