Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said Wednesday his country has started accepting tactical nuclear weapons from Russia.
Lukashenko said that “the bombs are three times more powerful” than the ones the U.S. dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, in World War II.
The ally of Russian leader Vladimir Putin said he demanded the weapons in an interview with Russian state TV.
“God forbid I have to make a decision to use those weapons today, but there would be no hesitation if we face aggression,” Lukashenko said, according to CBS News.
He said he would consult with Putin before using any nuclear weapons.
