New polling continues to show that Americans widely disapprove of President Joe Biden, with only one-third approving of his handling of the economy, immigration, and gun policy.

Only 21% of American adults believe the country is going in the right direction, according to a new poll from the Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

The survey found that only 31% of American adults approve of President Biden’s immigration policy and gun policy. Of the respondents to this poll, 67% actively disapprove of the president’s policy on each of these contentious issues.

Furthermore, only 33% of Americans approve of President Biden’s handling of the economy.

“Everything feels a bit crazy right now in this economy,” said Zoie Mosqueda, a 24-year-old mother of two from West Texas.

“My older daughter is in school now, and I just worry that this lack of gun policy stuff could affect her,” she told AP News, claiming that President Biden has failed to fulfill his campaign promises to reform the nation’s immigration policy.

However, some voters would still prefer re-electing President Biden over giving former president Donald Trump another term should the two face each other again in the 2024 presidential election.

“I agree with about half of Trump’s policies, but I think the guy is a liar and is so arrogant,” Bob Vought, a Florida independent who said he usually votes Republican, told AP News.

Vought said he has grown frustrated with the “out of control” spike in unlawful border crossings under the Biden administration. He maintained, however, that if Biden and Trump “were the only two candidates … I’d have to still vote Biden.”

Overall, the president earned an approval rating of 40% in this poll. Biden’s approval rating was recorded at its lowest point in history (36%) earlier this month in a Washington Post-ABC News poll, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

The AP-NORC poll also found the majority of Americans (55%) disapprove of his policy on student debt, while 43% approve.

Last year, the Biden administration approved student loan cancelation to the tune of $400 billion, but that plan has faced substantial pushback from the Department of Justice, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
