Play Frisco’s Nocturne event returns May 8-9 at Frisco Commons Park.
The award-winning after-dark showcase builds on last year’s debut by converting familiar park paths into an immersive outdoor gallery of art and nature under the stars, organizers announced.
Produced by the creators of AURORA, Nocturne deploys light, video, and sound installations from leading regional artists along a one-mile trail inside the park’s 63-acre expanse. The displays honor the landscape while recasting it through a nighttime lens, drawing from the subtle pulses of the natural world, including nocturnal plants, wildlife, and ethereal vibes.
Open to all ages, the free event merges community assembly with artistic exploration amid the surroundings, underscoring the city’s focus on “cultural accessibility, progressive programming, and civic pride,” according to a city news release. “Guests of all ages are invited to explore, imagine, and connect beneath the stars.”
“Last years’ was so incredible I cannot wait for this years,” commented Instagram user cpadilla2930.
“This was my favorite Frisco community event! The transport in was great and we met many artists! So happy to see it back!” Dana Schadler Bilbray commented on Facebook.
