A Springtown woman surrendered to authorities Friday on intoxication manslaughter charges stemming from a September crash that killed two people and injured two others in Azle, Texas.
Tammy Jo Lawrence, 48, faces four felony counts after a months-long investigation concluded she was drunk during the fatal collision.
Lawrence turned herself in after learning warrants had been issued for her arrest. She faces two counts of intoxication manslaughter and two counts of intoxication assault.
The crash occurred on September 23, 2025, in the 13000 block of South FM 730. Robert Edwin Anness, 67, and Johna Estes Wicker, 73, died at the scene.
Two other victims were seriously injured. Authorities have not released their identities.
Azle Police worked with the Tarrant County Accident Reconstruction Team and the Parker County Medical Examiner’s Office during the investigation. The lengthy probe concluded Lawrence was intoxicated when the crash occurred.
Under Texas law, intoxication manslaughter is a second-degree felony, which may carry a penalty of up to 20 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines. Intoxicated assault is a third-degree felony, with a penalty of up to 10 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.
Lawrence was booked into Parker County Jail on Friday. She remains held on a $50,000 combined bond.
The investigation took nearly five months to complete. Authorities have not disclosed specific details about the crash circumstances or Lawrence’s blood alcohol level.
