The project to renovate Sam’s Club in Grapevine is expected to begin in April, just over a year after it was damaged during storms that produced several tornadoes across North Texas.

According to a state filing, the renovations include remodeling 153,878 square feet of sales floor, optical sales and offices, hearing center, pharmacy, tire and battery area, employee breakroom, grocery area, refrigerated islands, receiving offices, snack bar, store offices, and club pick-up area.

At an estimated construction cost of $15 million, the project carries an anticipated delivery date of August 29. The Dallas Express reported in December that Walmart planned to reopen the store at 1701 W. State Hwy. 114 later in the year.

“Following extensive renovations, Sam’s Club is eager to reintroduce an enhanced shopping experience to its valued members,” according to a news release. “With a focus on innovation, the Grapevine location will showcase leading technology from Sam’s Club, improved services, and an extensive selection of high-quality products at disruptive prices, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable shopping journey for every member.”

By reopening the Sam’s Club location, Walmart officials expect to create more jobs, said Lance de la Rose, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Sam’s Club.

“We are thrilled to announce the reopening and revitalization of our Grapevine location and are excited for the opportunity to directly serve the Grapevine community again,” de la Rose said. “We’re looking forward to providing an enhanced shopping experience and delivering on our promise of helping our members share more, serve more, and live more through value, convenience, and quality.”

With the reopening, customers in Dallas-Fort Worth are being offered exclusive discounts on new memberships. Club members will receive $30 off their next in-club purchases of $30 or more, and plus members will receive $50 off their next in-club buys of $50 or more.
