On the one-year anniversary of several tornadoes ripping through North Texas, Walmart announced it is reopening Sam’s Club in Grapevine in late 2024.
“The revitalized club … will not only restore convenience to its members but also bring new jobs, innovative services, and a renewed commitment to the Grapevine community,” according to a news release.
The store, located at 1701 W. State Hwy 114, received “significant storm damage” after a tornado touched down in Grapevine.
“Following extensive renovations, Sam’s Club is eager to reintroduce an enhanced shopping experience to its valued members,” the release reads. “With a focus on innovation, the Grapevine location will showcase leading technology from Sam’s Club, improved services, and an extensive selection of high-quality products at disruptive prices, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable shopping journey for every member.”
Walmart officials expect more jobs to be created by reopening the Grapevine store.
“We are thrilled to announce the reopening and revitalization of our Grapevine location and are excited for the opportunity to directly serve the Grapevine community again,” Lance de la Rosa, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Sam’s Club. “We’re looking forward to providing an enhanced shopping experience and delivering on our promise of helping our members share more, serve more, and live more through value, convenience, and quality.”
Walmart also announced on Wednesday it is providing $30,000 through a grant and in-kind charitable donations to support Grapevine Relief and Community Exchange.
“We are delighted to welcome back Sam’s Club to our community,” Grapevine Mayor William D. Tate. “Sam’s Club has been a valued establishment for nearly 20 years in Grapevine, and the reopening will not only bring convenience to our residents but also contribute to the economic prosperity of Grapevine. We appreciate Sam’s Club’s commitment to investing in our city and supporting local businesses.”
To celebrate reopening in Grapevine, customers in the Dallas-Fort Worth area are being offered exclusive discounts on new memberships. Plus members will receive $50 off their next in-club purchases of $50 or more, and club members will receive $30 off their next in-club purchases of $30 or more.
