With North Texas not being on Santa’s list for a white Christmas, temperatures will remain reasonably mild through the holiday.

DFW could see some rain on Friday leading into the weekend, but it should dry out by the afternoon. The clouds are expected to recede as temperatures rise into the mid-60s to lower 70s, with the possibility of brief sunshine before nightfall.

Friday evening will likely bring some fog, mild winds, patchy drizzle, and a low of 59.

Waking up on Saturday, the City will likely be dry but overcast. This will probably change with the possibility of scattered showers or storms later in the day.

Precipitation will move eastward, starting with Gainesville and Cisco on Saturday, before moving through Palestine and Paris.

Across North Texas, rain is likely Saturday night, moving into Sunday. The National Weather Services forecasts 1 to 3 inches of precipitation across the region with possible thunder. While the storm’s severity appears low, the forecast could shift before then, so monitoring the forecast through the weekend is recommended.

Expect rain on Sunday morning, moving east throughout the day. By Christmas Eve, DFW should be dry and unseasonably warm. North Texas could see highs around 70 degrees this weekend, so we will not have a repeat of the rare white Christmas last seen in the metroplex in 2012.

The temperature will drop slightly on Christmas Day. Expect dry and breezy weather with highs around 60 on Monday, somewhat higher than the average of 56.

Looking ahead at the 14-day forecast, temperatures are expected to settle closer to normal. Expect highs in the 50s with cooler mornings in the 30s. As of now, no rain is in the forecast following Christmas.
