Update: The Frisco community is mourning the loss of the two teen girls who were involved in a sledding accident last Sunday. Elizabeth Angle, 16, died at a local hospital shortly after the incident on January 25. Her close friend, 16-year-old Grace Brito, who was critically injured, was placed on life support at a local hospital, where she died two days later, on January 27.

Brito’s mother described the two friends as inseparable, adding that Elizabeth “was one of Grace’s best friends. They were always together at each other’s house,” CBS News Texas reported.

A sledding-related accident in Frisco on Sunday afternoon left one teenage girl dead and another in critical condition, according to the Frisco Police Department.

Police said officers and firefighters responded to a call at approximately 2:26 p.m. on January 25, 2026, after an uninvolved caller reported an accident near the intersection of Majestic Gardens Drive and Killian Court in Frisco.

Upon arrival, first responders located two 16-year-old females who had suffered life-threatening injuries and immediately began administering life-saving measures. Both were transported to local hospitals. Police said one of the juveniles later died at the hospital, while the other remains in critical condition.

Because both victims are juveniles, authorities said no additional identifying information will be released.

Vehicle Pulled Sled, Police Say

According to preliminary findings, investigators believe a 16-year-old male was operating a Jeep Wrangler while pulling the two females on a sled. Witnesses reported that the sled struck a curb and then collided with a tree, police said.

The incident remains under active investigation, with assistance from the Denton County District Attorney’s Office.

Police Issue Safety Reminder

In a statement, the Frisco Police Department extended its condolences to those affected.

“The Frisco Police Department extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends affected by this tragic incident. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time,” the department said.

Authorities also urged residents to exercise caution during winter weather conditions, noting that snow and ice can create extremely slippery surfaces and lead to serious or even deadly accidents.

“Please stay alert, stay indoors when possible, and avoid any unnecessary outdoor activity until conditions improve,” the department said.

Public Asked for Information

Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to contact the Frisco Police Department at (972) 292-6010. Tips can also be submitted anonymously by texting FRISCOPD and the tip to 847411, or by using the Frisco Police Department mobile app.
