A person was resuscitated after a major rollover crash shut down U.S. 75 in Richardson on Saturday afternoon, leaving one in critical condition.

The collision near Midpark Road created significant traffic backups during the busy post-holiday travel period.

Dallas Fire-Rescue units responded to multiple 911 calls at 3:44 p.m. Saturday. They discovered an overturned pickup truck badly damaged near the inner median.

Paramedics “were able to get that person’s pulse back” before reaching the emergency room, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue. The victim remains hospitalized in critical condition, Fox 4 KDFW reported.

Multiple southbound lanes were closed as emergency crews worked the scene: the extensive damage and the truck’s median location complicated recovery efforts.

Officials haven’t disclosed how many vehicles were involved in the crash. The identity of the injured person has not been released.

It remains unclear whether the critically injured victim was inside the overturned pickup. No other injuries were reported from the incident.

The cause of the rollover crash is still under investigation.
