Following the wreck, an officer-involved shooting occurred. A man inside the vehicle was wounded, according to police.

Investigators believe a woman was also in the car during the incident. Their current conditions remain unknown.

The Texas Department of Public Safety joined Carrollton, Irving, and Grand Prairie police at the scene. Multiple agencies are investigating the shooting and the circumstances leading to the pursuit.

All eastbound lanes from Old Denton Road to Josey Lane remained closed through the morning commute. The service road was also shut down for the investigation.

Authorities have not disclosed where the chase originated or what prompted the initial pursuit. The total number of people involved remains unconfirmed.

As of 6:15 a.m., traffic was being diverted around the investigation scene. The closure created significant delays for morning commuters on the major North Texas thoroughfare.
