Officials of the Mansfield Independent School District have canceled all after-school activities at Timberview and the Early College High School after four people were injured in a shooting at Mansfield Timberview High School in Arlington on Wednesday.
District officials also announced that Thursday classes are now canceled in the schools. All parent-teacher conferences scheduled for Friday, Oct. 8, have also been canceled.
Timberview football coach James Brown stated that the team is planning to play their varsity game at Waco University, which is scheduled for this Friday.
In a message to families, the district described Wednesday’s shooting as a devastating day and that it is still in the midst of reunifying its students and parents. The district also thanked families for their cooperation, patience, understanding, and kind words as everyone deals with the shooting.
