US Army Specialist veteran John Endsley and his family moved into their brand new mortgage-free home in Royse City right before Christmas. Various community organizations came together to make this gracious gift happen.

Operation Finally Home, in partnership with MA Partners and Trophy Signature Homes, began construction of the home in July.

During the breaking-ground process, Ronnie Lyles from Operation Finally Home stated, “Even though you see John walking with a cane, he’s got a lot of other stuff he’s going to be dealing with. But hopefully, we can relieve him the stress of the mortgage off his shoulders so he can concentrate on that stuff a little bit more.”

Endsley joined the Army in 2004 and served for three years, including a deployment in Iraq. When he came home, he was diagnosed with several medical issues, including PTSD, hearing loss, and chronic abdominal pain.

Thursday, December 16th, was the move-in date for the wounded veteran and his wife, along with their five children. Endsley expressed, “This is an incredible thing we’re witnessing today. It’s a gift that is, to my family, priceless.”

His wife, Kelli, said, “Seeing it now from when we were here and just dirt to a house that’s fully finished and it’s ours is crazy.”

Since 2005, Operation Finally Home has been providing homes for wounded veterans and first responders. So far, 350 homes have been completed or are in the works.

This Christmas, in the Parkside Village development of Royse City, the Endsley family celebrated the holiday in their new home.
