VIDEO: Hotly Anticipated New Movies in March

March moviegoers will not be disappointed with an array of major motion pictures slated to appear at theaters across North Texas.

Several highly anticipated movies are opening in local theaters this month. Here is a rundown of some silver screen offerings selected by The Dallas Express that are bound to satisfy cinephiles. The full list of new movies can be viewed here:

March 1

Dune: Part Two

A star-studded cast headed by Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides and Zendaya as Chani is back for the second installation of this sci-fi epic. Paul reunites with the Fremen and finds himself juggling a war of revenge against those who murdered his family and steering the universe, including those he loves, away from the nightmarish versions of the future that keep invading his dreams.

Outlaw Posse

This Western, set against the backdrop of Montana in 1908, centers on Chief’s quest to recover stolen gold before his bloodthirsty rival, Angel, does. Mario Van Peebles, who both wrote and directed the film, stars as the lead, while a supporting cast features Whoopi Goldberg, Cedric the Entertainer, and more.

March 8

Accidental Texan

104 minutes

In an unexpected turn of events, a young actor named Erwin Vandeveer (Rudy Pankow) ends up stranded in Texas, where a bankrupt oil driller named Merle (Thomas Haden Church) comes to his aid. Erwin helps him out in kind, leading to a series of misadventures.

American Dreamer

Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) and Shirley MacLaine (Terms of Endearment) pair up in this dark comedy revolving around one man’s dream of owning a home. A struggling professor is offered a deal that proves too good to be true by a widow looking for companionship.

The Ballad of Davy Crockett

This film portrays the early days of legendary hero Davy Crockett (William Moseley) as he treks across the wild frontier to save his sons, who were kidnapped by a ruthless land baron (Colm Meaney) after their mother fell gravely ill.

Knox Goes Away

Starring Al Pacino, Michael Keaton, Marcia Gay Harden, James Marsden, and more, this film follows the quest of a contract killer (Keaton) to save the life of his estranged son (Marsden) before he loses his mind to a rare form of dementia.

March 22

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

109 minutes

Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Annie Potts, Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, and more star in the latest production featuring everyone’s favorite ghost-fighting team. The latest New York City adventure is set off by a malignant entity residing inside an ancient relic that threatens to cast the world into a new ice age.
