A new survey finds that the Lone Star State holds some of the most underrated winter destinations in the United States.

While Texas did not make the top 10, it did manage to lock down three spots among the list of 150 destinations.

Wyoming topped the list, with Buffalo at number one, followed by High Springs, Florida, and Creede, Colorado in third.

The survey by Family Destinations Guide produced the ranking by asking 3,000 Americans to name their favorite underrated winter vacation spots.

Each state of the nation was given three slots in the rankings. Florida was the only state with two cities in the top 10, with Cedar Key coming at No.10.

The following is what Family Destinations had to say about each of the three locations in Texas, as reported by KXAN.

No.20 – Fredericksburg

“Nestled in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, this charming town offers a unique blend of German heritage and Texan hospitality. During the winter months, its historic Main Street comes alive with festive decorations and holiday events, including a picturesque Christmas parade,” per KXAN.

No.21 – Jefferson

“This historic East Texas town, known for its well-preserved 19th-century architecture, takes on a unique charm during the winter season. Families can stroll along the quaint streets adorned with festive decorations, enjoy holiday-themed events, and visit charming boutiques for unique gifts,” per KXAN.
