“C’mon down! You’re the next contestant on The Price Is Right!” Get ready to hear those famous words firsthand when the long-running CBS television game show makes its way to Dallas-Fort Worth on April 7.

The Price is Right “Come On Down” Tour will tour through fifty cities nationwide, offering one lucky winner a $50,000 grand prize at each stop.

CBS president and chief marketing officer Mike Benson stated in a press release, “The Come On Down Tour is an expansion of our mission to bring fans closer to what they love in new and exciting ways while simultaneously supporting iconic local business partners in each city.”

The tour begins Friday, March 25 at the Santa Monica Pier in California and travels through various American landmarks, including the Gateway Arch in St. Louis and historic Route 66.

Although the Dallas show will be on April 7, the exact location has not yet been announced.

With the Come On Down tour comes fan-favorite games from the show, such as Plinko and the famous wheel from the Showcase Showdown.

Perhaps the program’s most iconic element, the Showcase Showdown, involves three contestants who get two attempts to spin a giant wheel in hopes of landing as close to a dollar as possible without going over.

The tour is part of the 50th-anniversary celebration of the program, which aired its first episode on September 4, 1972, with host Bob Barker, who remained in the role until his retirement in 2007.

Comedian Drew Carey then took over the position. Carey will not be a part of this tour, however. Instead, the show’s production staff members will host.

Since the show’s inception, very little has changed about its format. The bulk of the program involves contestants being shown various products and guessing at their retail price without going over.

Potential contestants are chosen from the audience and announced with the oft-quoted line, “Come on down; you’re the next contestant on The Price is Right!”
