Wine lovers in Dallas will soon have an easy way to taste some of the best vintages from Texas Wine Country.

Barons Creek Vineyards, a celebrated winery from Fredericksburg, is opening a new tasting room and wine lounge in Dallas’ vibrant Bishop Arts District.

The new location is expected to open in October at 418 N. Bishop Ave. It will be the second location in the metroplex, with one already nestled in McKinney’s historic downtown area since 2022.

In addition to the original tasting room it opened in Fredericksburg in 2015, Barons Creek also has locations in Georgetown and Granbury.

Barons Creek is a family affair focused on making wine from Texas-grown grapes, but not exclusively. Together with winemaker Russell Smith, Barons Creek dabbles in blends that include grapes from Spain and elsewhere in the United States.

In fact, the company is currently putting together a Spain Wine Adventure package that will offer guests a first-rate tasting tour of some of the top wines from the northeastern part of the Iberian country.

For now, guests can enjoy Baron Creeks’ two villas in Fredericksburg, one of the most picturesque small towns in the country, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

Each Italian-style villa features two private master suites and four private guest bedrooms. Since the emphasis is on providing couples and groups with refinement and wine tasting, pets and children are not permitted.

As for the upcoming Dallas location, the venue will very much resemble the one in McKinney, as Meghan Delgado, manager of Baron Creeks in Fredericksburg, told Culture Map Dallas.

There will be a lounge and tasting room serving up a number of wine and light dining options, not to mention a whole lot of tasting opportunities.

In one of the two separate bar areas, guests will be able to order wine by the glass and choose choice bits from a charcuterie and cheese-heavy tapas menu. A trio of pizzas will also be available, featuring topping options like pepperoni, artichoke, and goat cheese.

Still, the main event is the wine tasting, which guides guests through five carefully selected wines. The flights can be all reds, all whites, or a mix for $21 per person.
