The New Year is a fresh 365 days to accomplish goals, be better than you were the year before and incorporate more fun into your life. Get working on that “fun” part by kicking off the New Year at Main Event, and as a bonus, you’ll help raise funds to fight child and family homelessness.

The seventh-annual Day 1 DFW Event (formerly known as Day 1 Dallas), presented by Reliant Energy will take place on New Year’s Day, 2022.

The event will be an all-inclusive experience where families can enjoy unlimited bowling, billiards, laser tag, gravity ropes, golf, arcade games, and more at all Main Event locations across the metroplex. The fun starts on January 1, 2022, at 9 a.m. and lasts until 2 a.m. on January 2.

Day 1 DFW attendees are also treated to a free drive-in firework show at Toyota Stadium in Frisco and at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, starting at 7 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will help assist the homeless through Vogel Alcove, a Dallas-based non-profit that has helped provide therapeutic programs and support services for more than 16,000 Dallas-area homeless children and families since 1987.

Everyone who makes a donation to become a “Friend” of Day 1 DFW will help children in need, giving them the opportunity to attend Day 1 DFW for free.

“Each night, approximately 4,500 children in Dallas go to sleep without a home of their own. These children are the most vulnerable members of our community, and Vogel Alcove is devoted to helping them cope with the physical, emotional, and mental trauma they are experiencing so that they might succeed in school and in life,” said Vogel Alcove’s President and CEO Karen Hughes.

In addition, Main Event will be expanding their entertainment for families with a “Science Safari” and the “Frisco School of Rock” at the Frisco location. “Wildlife on the Move” will be featured in Grand Prairie, and Star Wars characters will make an appearance at the Grapevine and North Fort Worth locations.

“Main Event is dedicated to the communities we serve,” said Robert Jenkins, VP Sales & Strategic Initiatives of Main Event. “We are honored to have the opportunity to not only offer safe and affordable family fun New Year’s Day but to raise awareness and donations to help those who need it the most.”
