Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio released renderings of its new esports gaming center Thursday.

The arena will be called ESIX Gaming and is “powered by Coca-Cola.”

The gaming center will be able to host live tournaments and competitions between teams on its stage and allow up to 50 people to compete at a time on the individual gaming stations. The release emphasized that players of all skill levels can participate in the esports experience.

Jeffrey Siebert, park president of Six Flags Fiesta Texas, said in the news release, “This cutting-edge gaming arena is a first for the amusement industry, representing our dedication to offering a premium experience in every aspect of our guests’ visit.”

A lounge, bar, and retail space for the latest gaming essentials will be on the first floor. Guests can get food and alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks at the bar.

The Coke VIP lounge is on the second floor, which the release called an “upscale, full-service environment.” Here, the players can take a break and watch live streams of gameplay.

Additionally, there are plans to host larger events in the Zaragoza Theater, which can fit around 1,600 people.

Six Flags will work with Roadrunner Gaming, a University of Texas at San Antonio community dedicated to “the growth and development of ‘ESPORTS’, or competitive PC and console gaming.”

The group will provide Six Flags with feedback on the project, and Six Flags will be looking to form more alliances with the group through student jobs and internships.

It seems that Texas is becoming a hot spot for esports, as the “largest turnkey esports facility in North America, Esports Stadium,” is in Arlington, according to the company’s website.

The venue opened in 2018, and its 100,000 square feet hosts gaming events for a large number of spectators.

Additionally, Flower Mound is the U.S. home to EVA, a massive VR shooter experience.
