A new, first-of-its-kind app designed for parents by parents is launching in Fort Worth. The Parent Pass app is the result of a collaboration between The Best Place for Kids! (BP4K), a public-private partnership focused on child learning and life success, and 100 Fort Worth families.

The purpose of the free app is to connect Fort Worth parents with one another and with all the resources they need within one convenient tool.

“By partnering with Fort Worth families to create the Parent Pass app, we were able to incorporate the specific resources, partners, and supports that matter most to them and put them in one place,” said Sadie Funk, director of BP4K.

“This not only makes the Parent Pass convenient for families, but it helps provide access to many free events and parent-recommended resources that every Fort Worth parent should know about and have access to,” said Funk. “We hope to build an even more uplifting, empowering community of parents and families here in Fort Worth who are all connected and helping each other through the Parent Pass app.”

With the Parent Pass app, parents and caregivers can:

  • Find Child Care, Summer Camp, and After School Programs: Search real-time availability by location, cost, and quality.
  • View Neighborhood Events & Programs: Search for free things to do with your family, such as playdates, sports events, and potlucks, by date, location, age, and more!
  • Chat with Local Parents: Find your village – connect with parents to get advice, offer support, and more.
  • Access Mental Health & Wellness Resources: Find links to kids and teen counseling, as well as mental wellness resources and mental health education for use in the home.
  • Explore Child Learning and At-Home Activities: Provides caregivers with activities to support their child’s growth and development and guidance from child specialists when questions arise.
  • See Freebies: Get free stuff your neighbors have outgrown, such as diapers, bikes, and clothes!
  • Get Crime Data in Your Neighborhood: Real-time reports of activity where you live.

BP4K will host a free launch celebration for Fort Worth families on Saturday, October 8. The event will take place at Dream Park, located at 2001 University Dr., Fort Worth, TX, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The day will include free games, bounce houses, giveaways, and food. Interested parties can register for the event at www.ParentPass.app for a chance to win raffle prizes. The first 500 parents to RSVP will receive a $10 Visa gift card.
