The masterpieces of Michelangelo will go on full display at the Irving Mall this February. Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition is a virtual display that will allow art lovers to enjoy 34 reproductions of the Italian painter’s works.

The exhibition is described as an “immersive, museum-quality, near life-size reproduction.”

According to the website, “Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition showcases the awe and wonder of arguably one of mankind’s greatest artistic achievements while allowing its visitors to experience this art from an Up-Close, Life-Sized, and Never-Before-Seen perspective.”

From SEE Attractions Inc., the exhibit utilizes high-definition visual equipment, including interactive signage that allows patrons to learn about each piece through an audio guide.

This tech allows for a more in-depth and immersive exhibit experience by sharing background information and secret messages. The original curved paintings of Michelangelo found in the Vatican City have been adapted for patrons to experience with a head-on view.

“With special expertise and care, the ceiling paintings from the Sistine Chapel have been reproduced in a truly unique way using licensed high-definition photos.

Brought to life using a special printing technique that emulates the look and feel of the original paintings, visitors are given a chance to engage with the artwork in ways that were never before possible: seeing every detail, every brushstroke, and every color of the artist’s 34 frescoes,” the SEE Attractions exhibit promises.

The exhibit has been on display worldwide and first came to Texas back in 2016. The exhibit will be on display from February 4 through March 20 on Wednesday through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Irving Mall near the DFW Airport.

Ticket pricing is $17.50 for adults (ages 13+) and $13.30 for kids (4-12). There is also a VIP Package available. The exhibit takes roughly 60-90 minutes to walk through.
