Everything is bigger in Texas, including the Fourth of July. This year is no exception, as there are many celebrations and events right here in the metroplex to commemorate the country’s independence.

The Dallas Express compiled a list of notable events in the area to help with your holiday planning, and the list was so big we had to split it into three parts! Here’s Part Two:

Flower Mound

Flower Mound will host two events over the Fourth of July weekend.

Kids, parents, grandmas, grandpas, and other interested parties are invited to bring their decorated bikes, trikes, wagons, and strollers to participate in the Children’s Parade on Monday, July 4. Line-up begins at 9:30 a.m. at the corner of Eaton and Timber Road, and the procession will start promptly at 10 a.m.

The short parade route will end at Leonard and Helen Johns Park, where participants will find free hot dogs and drinks, children’s activities, and live entertainment.

Later in the day, the Independence Day Fest 2022 kicks off at 5 p.m. at Bakersfield Park. The Randy Rogers Band will headline the fun-filled event that includes hours of live entertainment, a vintage car show, local vendors, and a fireworks show to finish the evening.

Fort Worth

Fort Worth’s Fourth begins at 5 p.m. on July 4 at Panther Island Pavillion. The public can bring their own tube or float for use in the swimming area between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. The water will be cleared at dusk.

On dry land, festival-goers can participate in kids’ activities such as zip-lining, face-painting, inflatables, and more. The evening will feature live music from Party Machine and Metal Shop and plenty of food and beverage vendors, including beer and wine.

The event will be capped off at 9:30 p.m. with what is promised to be the largest Fourth of July fireworks show in North Texas.

A patriotic program begins at 9 p.m. with a flag-raising ceremony, the playing of the national anthem, and a presentation by the mayor of Garland, leading to the Firewheel Fireworks Spectacular at 9:15 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring sunscreen and lawn chairs and blankets.

The Vegas Stars will provide live music, and the extended family fun park will offer a petting zoo, pony rides, face painters, airbrush tattoo artists, inflatable slides, an obstacle course, and games. A 20-minute fireworks show, choreographed to music, will end the evening following the last horse race of the day.

Bring the family to historic Nash Farm starting Friday, July 1, from 10 a.m.–noon. The 19th-century working homestead will have a patriotic picnic. Bring your picnic basket and enjoy lawn games and refreshments. Tickets are $5 per person (ages 3+).

On July 2, Nash Farm will hold “Bluegrass at the Settlement,” where fans of bluegrass and folk music can enjoy live music at the Settlement to City Museum Park, located at 206 W. Hudgins St., from noon–4:00 p.m.

The July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza kicks off at 9:30 p.m. on July 4, with several areas to view fireworks while listening to patriotic music. Parking or entry fees may apply. Once lake parks are at capacity, no more vehicles or foot traffic will be allowed.

If you have trouble hearing the music from your location, Grapevine has created a Soundcloud Fourth of July music track for you to enjoy while watching the fireworks.
