An art installation located in Fort Worth’s Rosemont Park has been catapulted to the global art stage as a finalist in an international competition.

The CODAawards program celebrates the artists behind inspirational art and design pieces found in public and private spaces across the world.

This year, a piece known as Concentric Harmony was among the top 100 finalists chosen by a distinguished panel of architects, designers, and curators.

Concentric Harmony was dedicated on December 3, 2022, and currently stands at 1600 W. Seminary Dr.

Designed by artist Virginia Fleck to be a sensorial experience, it is a vibrantly colored maze of 97 columns arranged in three concentric circles and surrounded by a granite pathway.

The installation forms a mandala, which visitors aim to reach the center of by weaving through the mirrored columns as well as the flickers and shimmers they cast.

Over 400 entries from 24 different countries were submitted for the 2023 CODAawards. The average cost of each of the submitted artworks was $286,000.

Now the field of 100 will be whittled down further to include a winner for each of 10 different categories. The two artworks receiving the most votes from the public will win the People’s Choice award.

Winners will be announced at the end of August and will get a one-year CODAworx Pro membership worth $600.

Last year, entries from Texas were awarded two landscape merit honorable mentions and an education merit honorable mention.

A total of 15 works from Texas were selected as CODAawards finalists this year.
