The Fort Worth Botanic Garden will light up this year’s holiday season with its third annual Lightscape event.

Beginning November 22 — the weekend before Thanksgiving — and running through January 5, 2025, more than a million holiday lights will illuminate the 120-acre park. In addition to the festive lights, the 1.2-mile-long walking trail looping around the garden will feature art installations and holiday music.

Although this is the third year for the event, more than 80% of the trail is new this year, blending beloved favorite custom-designed light installations with exciting new ones.

One of the highlights will be a new Texas-themed section, including an illuminated Texas flag, giant nutcracker dolls, Christmas cacti, and illuminated bluebonnets. Another must-see is the 40-foot illuminated Christmas tree amid 2,000 color-changing lights.

Fort Worth Botanic Garden (FWBG) is the only venue in Texas hosting the Lightscape show this year, according to Patrick Newman, the CEO and president of FWBG.

“From the moment guests enter Lightscape, they will be whisked away into a realm of enchantment and amazement, surrounded by dazzling light installations thoughtfully integrated with our garden’s beauty,” Newman said, per Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

“Every tree, plant, and path will be bathed in a harmonious blend of lights and music, creating a mesmerizing ambiance never experienced before,” he added.

According to an FWBG press release, Santa Claus has promised to stop by on selected evenings for visits and photo ops.

Fire pit stations will be set up throughout the garden so guests can pause to warm their hands, roast some s’mores, and sip on mugs of hot chocolate. Other food and beverage items will also be available for sale, although the menu has not yet been announced.

Tickets are available online, and prices vary based on the day of the week and date selected. Advance purchase tickets start at $12 for children and $18 for adults. Tickets purchased on the event day will cost an additional $5. Parking passes are also available online, starting at $20.

Lightscape is located at 3220 Botanic Garden Blvd. in Fort Worth.
