It’s a great time to be in Dallas-Fort Worth, with the upcoming weekend packed with events. Here are 10 activities you can enjoy in the metroplex beginning Friday evening.

Friday, February 16

  • Deep Ellum Foodie Lovers Tour: Enjoy optional cocktails and mocktails on this tour that takes you to three Deep Ellum eateries. The tour starts at 5 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m.
  • Kenny Wayne Shepherd Live: Fans of blues-rock guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd can catch the star at the Majestic Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $49 to $99.
  • Uptown Nights: The Dallas Symphony Orchestra presents Uptown Nights: It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got That Swing, a Harlem-inspired evening of music from Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, and others. The event runs Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center.
  • Rob Schneider Live: Arlington Improv hosts legendary comic Rob Schneider four times through Saturday.
  • Joe and Cedric the Entertainer: Check out this combined music and comedy performance at Texas Trust CU Theatre in Grand Prairie this Friday at 8 p.m.

Saturday, February 17

  • Brad Williams Live: Actor and comedian Brad Williams will perform stand-up at the Majestic Theatre at 7:15 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. this Saturday.
  • Yanga at Mía Theatre: Catch Jaime Chabaud’s “Yanga,” based on Gaspar Yanga, an African Prince who rebelled and secured an autonomous region from Spain in early colonial Mexico, at the Latino Cultural Center until March 3.
  • Plano Symphony Orchestra presents Branford Marsalis: Listen to the jazz music of Grammy-winning artist Branford Marsalis as played by the Plano Symphony Orchestra this Saturday at 8 p.m.

Sunday, February 18

Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Live: King for a Day: The Neighborhood of Make-Believe come to life in this stage production featuring Daniel, O the Owl, Prince Wednesday, and more, with songs both new and old, that teach lessons about kindness, friendship, and helping others. Preschoolers, parents, and grandparents can enjoy the show together at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Texas Trust CU Theater in Grand Prairie.

Black History Month Food Festival: Running noon to 6 p.m., celebrate Black History Month with food from over 10 vendors, live performances, and crafts from local artisans.
