Smokin’ Oak Wood-Fired Pizza and Taproom will soon be serving up some of its famous wood-fired pies to the residents of Dallas-Fort Worth.

The Minnesota-based pizza chain will celebrate the grand opening of its first location in the metroplex on January 24. It will be the second location in the Lone Star State; the first has been serving the residents of Austin since late August.

The new Smokin’ Oak location can be found at the Stonebriar Centre in Frisco.

Dallas developer Pizza Dega, LLC is behind Smokin’ Oak’s expansion into DFW and says it is looking forward to bringing Smokin’ Oak’s product to the market.

“We were blown away by the business model, the quality of the product, and the passion that has gone into creating the Smokin’ Oak brand. After being introduced to the Smokin’ Oak franchise, we knew this was exactly what we wanted,” the developer said in a statement.

Matt Mongoven, CEO and franchisor of Smokin’ Oak, said, “We are incredibly fortunate to have partnered with such a dynamic team in Dallas. We can’t wait to open in the Dallas market and continue our expansion into Texas.”

Smokin’ Oak opened the flagship restaurant of its fast-food chain in Rochester, Minnesota, in 2009. The brand began to expand in 2016, opening locations in Iowa, Colorado, and Nebraska.

Franchised restaurants offer the same energetic environment in which customers can enjoy their specialty pizzas and sandwiches. Their famous wooden ovens can hit temperatures of about 900 degrees, cooking pizzas to order in two minutes.

While its wood-fired pizza is undeniably the star, Smokin’ Oak has a signature self-pour tap wall as well. Customers can use a chipped wristband to serve themselves their drinks of choice from the selection of beer, wine, and cider on tap. Among the 40 drafts on offer at the new 5,000-square-foot Frisco location, Smokin’ Oak will carry local craft beers, including selections from Deep Ellum, 4-Corners, and Rollertown Breweries.

Pizza Dega, LLC is confident in its decision to bring Smokin’ Oak to the DFW foodie scene.

“After spending a short time at two other stores, we were amazed at what this emerging brand has already achieved in such a short time, and what it will become. The pizza is delicious!” Pizza Dega, LLC said.

This is just one of a few restaurants coming to DFW this month, as previously reported in The Dallas Express.

Another Smokin’ Oak is in the works at a location in Dallas that has yet to be announced.
