A recent ranking of Texas resorts offering the best guest experience put Dallas, Austin, and San Antonio at the top.

U.S. News and World Report compiled a list of the very best resort offerings in the Lone Star State by leveraging guest reviews, professional travel expert reports, and hotel class ratings.

Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek – Dallas (No.1)

Appearing at the top was Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek, an uptown five-star luxury hotel in what used to be a private estate in an exclusive Dallas neighborhood. Located at 2821 Turtle Creek Blvd., the Rosewood Mansion is the gem in the crown of Rosewood Hotels and Resorts.

The rate for rooms starts at around $655 a night.

Commodore Perry Estate, Auberge Resorts Collection – Austin (No.2)

The prestigious Commodore Perry Estate, located at 4100 Red River St. in Austin, is part of the Auberge Resorts Collection. Guests enjoy the classic yet modernized European style of this resort. This is especially true of the expansive Mansion Suites, which were part of the original mansion built on the property in the 1920s.

Rooms for this five-star start at $595.

Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa – San Antonio (No.3)

Rounding out the top three is a sanctuary of peace and tranquility just minutes away from downtown San Antonio. The Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa perfectly fuses luxury with outdoor recreation, such as through an onsite 27-hole golf course and a water park. It is located at 9800 Hyatt Resort Dr.

Rooms are available for as low as $228 a night.

Standouts in North Texas

Other honorable mentions from the North Texas region appearing on U.S. News and World Report’s list include Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine (No.10) and the Westin Dallas Stonebriar Golf Resort & Spa in Frisco (No.11).

North Texas residents may already be familiar with the Gaylord Texan Resort for its central role in Grapevine’s famous Christmas festivities, as The Dallas Express previously covered. Located at 1501 Gaylord Tr., the resort also boasts a 25,000-square-foot spa as well as an onsite water park.

Westin Dallas Stonebriar Gold Resort & Spa, located at 1549 Legacy Dr., offers guests the opportunity to practice their golf swing on the Tom Fazio-designed golf course and splash around the lagoon-style pool. Yet most visitors seem to appreciate Westin’s own signature Heavenly Beds, which are topped with a pillow mattress.

High-end properties don’t stop at resorts in North Texas. In May, the region boasted several new luxury properties with price tags exceeding $10 million, as previously covered by The Dallas Express.
