If you are counting carbs, this is not for you – but if you enjoy bread in every shape and form, then get ready for an all-new delivery experience, coming soon to doorsteps across Dallas. BreadEx is a new delivery service serving loaves of international bread straight to your doorstep.

“Bread is a basic food in all world cultures and a staple in almost every home,” founder Uma Iyer said in a statement to Dallas CultureMap. “We are passionate about bringing the tremendous diversity of artisan bread right to our customers’ breakfast table. We want to complement and diversify the bread buying experience for our customers.”

Based in Plano, BreadEx started as a charity called BreadForAll, which operated as a fundraiser during the pandemic lockdown in 2020. Iyer says demand for the bread continued, so she rebranded as BreadEx and partnered with Plano bakery Tartalicious as a subsidiary service. Now BreadEx is flying solo.

“We are passionate about bread and getting it in the hands of customers while it is still truly fresh from the oven,” said head baker Neil Tigner.

There are two options for BreadEx subscriptions, “World” is a rotating menu of four different types of bread from around the world. The weekly “World” subscription costs $12.50. In March, BreadEx will offer a variety of Italian bread as follows:

  • Week 1: Pane Siciliano
  • Week 2: Focaccia with Pesto, Garlic Confit, and Basil
  • Week 3: Ciabatta
  • Week 4: Sicilian Brioche

The “Essential” option includes artisan bread for daily meals. The weekly “Essential” subscription is eight dollars a week. Four loaves rotate each week as follows:

  • Week 1: Buttered Oat Loaf
  • Week 2: Whole Wheat
  • Week 3: Milk Bread
  • Week 4: Multigrain Seeded Loaf

If your mouth is watering, mark your calendar for February 8, when the BreadEx website goes live. For now, delivery is only available in Dallas.
