This Saturday marks the seventh annual Bloody Mary Parade Brunch at Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House in Fort Worth, benefitting a Wish with Wings, Texas’ first wish-granting nonprofit.

The event begins at 10 a.m. on Saturday and concludes at 1 p.m.

Located at 812 Main St., Fort Worth, the event features brunch and cocktails that eventgoers can enjoy while watching the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo All-Western Parade.

Founded in 1982, the 501(c)3 organization a Wish with Wings is celebrating 40 years of service. It has granted over 1,700 wishes to Texas children fighting life-threatening medical conditions.

A Wish with Wings is all about the “power of hope” and “the Magic of a Wish,” according to the organization’s website.

“We often hear from medical professionals how they believe that HOPE can be a powerful healing source … a spark that helps pull us from the depths of despair. The light that shines despite the darkness. And in the craziness and despair of the past almost two years … we all need a spark to remind us that there is still hope that tomorrow will be better,” says the organization’s website.

The very first wish the organization granted was to 5-year-old Johnny M., whose wish was a Big Bird backyard playset.

Since then, the organization has gone on to fulfill wishes ranging from petting a cheetah to getting a custom tuba to going on a Hawaiian vacation. One beneficiary even met the dolphin Winter, the star of the movie Dolphin Tale.

Attendees of the seventh annual brunch will also be able to watch the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo All-Western Parade, which is set to begin Saturday, January 13, and run until February 4.

The rodeo features livestock shows, horse shows, and plenty of competitions for eventgoers and brunch connoisseurs to enjoy.
