Believe it or not, the 2022 State Fair of Texas is just a little over four months away, and this year’s theme is dedicated to all the fantastic food the State Fair of Texas has been responsible for over the past 136 years. The “Taste of Texas” artwork honors new and fan-favorite food alike and showcases the tasty treats with a colorful sticker collection.

Food has been a focal point of the State Fair of Texas since its inception. The 2022 artwork features State Fair of Texas staples such as turkey legs, cotton candy, corn dogs, and funnel cakes.

“This year’s commemorative theme art is about more than just food,” said Mitchell Glieber, State Fair of Texas president. “It’s about bringing people together. Whether you’re competing in a Creative Arts cooking contest, wandering the Big Tex Urban Farms greenhouse on the Midway, shopping for locally made treats, or taste-testing the Big Tex Choice Awards finalists, food is the common denominator all fairgoers come out to enjoy year after year.”

Over 2 million people attend the State Fair of Texas each year, and the food brings them in from all over the world. The State Fair boasts unique concoctions like Buffalo Chicken in a Flapjack, a Funnel Cake Bacon Queso Burger, and Deep Fried Peaches & Cream; even Oprah could not resist the State Fair of Texas’ Fried Butter.

Whatever way you look at it, this year’s commemorative theme painting illustrates the wide range of cuisines available at the State Fair. Food is the glue that holds our event together so that everyone may enjoy it. There will be 24 days to celebrate the “Taste Of Texas” at historic Fair Park in Dallas, from September 30 to October 23.

In June, further details will be announced about season passes and ticketing for the 2022 State Fair of Texas.
