Fletcher’s Original Corny Dogs latest corn dog masterpiece makes its debut at the State Fair of Texas. The Dallas Hot Bird Dog, will be featured only at Fletcher’s stands during the state fair.

The unique creation has been months in the making so that Fletcher’s could roll out the spicy dog just in time for the Big Tex Choice Awards. It is the first time Fletcher’s, the famous name behind the traditional corn dog, has entered the state fair food competition. While the new concoction from Fletcher’s did not make the list of this year’s ten finalists, the Dallas Hot Bird Dog is worth a try.

The dog is a smoked turkey frank minus the stick that corn dogs usually come on. The turkey frank is then battered and fried in a flavorful seasoning that is packed with heat. A generous topping of mac and cheese is then added to the dog with a sprinkling of crispy fried jalapeños. The Dallas Hot Bird Dog is then finished off with a Cholula hot sauce drizzle.

Aaron Fletcher, the company’s CEO, called the new corn dog a “new and interesting dish” that his family developed. This is the first time Fletcher’s has changed its famous corn dog batter. Those looking to enjoy the cheesy, spicy masterpiece are encouraged to use a fork.

Fletcher’s have their concession stands up and running at the State Fair Of Texas on the Thrillway. Patrons can get the Dallas Hot Bird Dog at all seven stands. The family-owned business plans to sell more than 500,000 of their famous corn dogs throughout the annual fair.

Aside from the Dallas Hot Bird Dog, this year’s fair will also feature new foods such as the Big Tex Bowl, Bag of Eggrolls, Bacon Jam Corn Bombs, Chicken on a Stick, and more.

The State Fair of Texas runs from Sept. 24 through Oct. 17.
