The Trump administration on Thursday launched TrumpRx.gov, a new federal website designed to give Americans access to lower prescription drug prices by linking U.S. costs to the lowest prices paid in other developed nations.

According to a White House fact sheet, the website serves as a centralized platform where patients can view discounted prices on dozens of high-cost branded prescription drugs and connect to pharmaceutical manufacturers’ direct-to-consumer purchasing programs or pharmacy coupons. The site does not sell medications directly.

At launch, TrumpRx.gov lists prices for more than 40 prescription drugs, including treatments for diabetes, obesity, heart disease, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, fertility, and hormone-related conditions. Several of the medications rank among the most expensive and widely prescribed brand-name drugs in the United States.

“You’re going to save a fortune,” President Donald Trump said at the website’s unveiling. “And this is also so good for overall health care.”

How the Website Works

TrumpRx.gov functions as a pricing and access portal rather than an online pharmacy. Patients with valid prescriptions can use the site to compare listed prices and are then directed to manufacturer purchasing channels or provided with coupons that may be used at participating pharmacies, depending on the medication.

The administration tied the pricing model to most-favored-nation (MFN) pricing, which links U.S. drug prices to the lowest prices paid for the same medications in comparable developed countries. The White House says the policy is intended to address long-standing price disparities in which American patients often pay more than patients overseas for identical drugs.

The initial rollout includes medications from manufacturers that have reached MFN pricing agreements with the administration, including AstraZeneca, Eli Lilly, EMD Serono, Novo Nordisk, and Pfizer. The White House said additional drugs will be added as more manufacturers finalize agreements.

Examples of Listed Prices

According to TrumpRx.gov and the White House fact sheet, listed prices at launch include:

  • Ozempic: as low as $199 per month, compared to a listed price of $1,028
  • Wegovy (injectable): as low as $199 per month, compared to $1,349
  • Wegovy (pill): as low as $149 per month
  • Zepbound: as low as $299 per month, compared to $1,087
  • Insulin Lispro: as low as $25 per month
  • Gonal-F, a fertility medication: as low as $168 per pen
  • Cetrotide: reduced from $316 to $22.50

The listed prices reflect out-of-pocket costs and may not apply to all patients. Actual savings can vary based on insurance coverage, dosage strength, pharmacy participation, and whether lower-cost generic alternatives are available.

Background and Scope

The website’s launch follows a series of actions taken by the Trump administration to pressure pharmaceutical manufacturers to lower U.S. drug prices. In May 2025, President Trump signed an executive order directing federal agencies to pursue MFN pricing. In July 2025, the administration sent letters to major drugmakers outlining steps to bring U.S. prices in line with those paid abroad.

Since September 2025, the administration has announced multiple pricing agreements with pharmaceutical companies. As previously reported by The Dallas Express, those agreements laid the groundwork for tying U.S. drug prices to international benchmarks and expanding direct-to-consumer access for certain medications.

“We’re tired of subsidizing the world,” Trump said during the launch event.

TrumpRx.gov does not replace insurance coverage or existing pharmacy benefit programs. Patients with insurance may already pay lower copays or negotiated rates, and some generic drugs remain cheaper than brand-name medications listed on the site.

According to the White House, the administration expects TrumpRx.gov to expand over time as additional manufacturers join the program.
