Update to original story: 12:15 p.m. February 6, 2026: Founders received a threat shortly after 8 a.m., then school officials called 911, said Lewisville police Assistant Director of Administrative Services Elizabeth Mayes to The Dallas Express.

“Students were evacuated to a nearby church,” Mayes said.

Lewisville police and fire led a safety check of the campus for “suspicious devices or hazards,” but did not find any, according to Mayes. They issued the all-clear just after 9 a.m.

“We are aware that other schools have received similar threats,” Mayes added.

Lewisville police could not confirm how many schools across Texas received threats, when they came in, or how they were sent, according to Mayes. She said the department would investigate the threats with its own resources, coordinate with other jurisdictions that received similar threats, and work with federal law enforcement.

“Because the investigation is ongoing, we are unable to comment further on investigative details or status,” Mayes said. “It is also too early to determine whether this incident is related to other referenced cases.”

She noted that students have returned to class, but Lewisville police will remain on campus for safety.

Outside Austin, Founders Classical Academy of Leander also evacuated due to a bomb threat on February 6, according to KXAN. Police inspected the campus, but did not find any explosives.

Founders Classical Academy in Lewisville was evacuated on Friday morning due to an anonymous “AI-generated” threat, according to information provided to The Dallas Express. School officials said “other campuses around the state” received similar threats.

The school, located at 1010 Bellaire Blvd. in Lewisville, evacuated students and staff in accordance with safety protocols. Officials instructed parents to pick up their children for the rest of the day.

The Lewisville Police Department and Lewisville Fire Department reportedly completed their investigations and found no evidence of a credible threat.

This is a developing story, and this article will be updated accordingly.

This latest incident follows a string of recent threats against schools.

A masked group of suspects threatened 14 Texas schools in early January, as The Dallas Express reported. DX confirmed these threats originated from the violent Ukrainian group MKY.

Dallas Baptist University evacuated on January 22 after receiving threats, following similar threats to schools across the DFW area.
