The Aledo Fire Department arrived at Aledo Middle School (AMS) due to fire and smoke reported within the new fine arts area of the campus.

As a result of the January 13 smoke damage, the school was forced to cancel classes.

On their website, school officials released a statement:

“This morning the fire department was called to AMS because of smoke in the building in the new fine arts area. While we are working with the fire department to investigate the cause, due to that investigation and the significant impact on areas that serve students in the building, we are not able to have school at the campus TODAY, THURSDAY, JANUARY 13, 2022. We will update you with more information as it becomes available.”

The school also added that it regrets the inconvenience of the closure but is grateful that the fire department reacted quickly and no one was injured.
