Texas law enforcement agencies captured 65 of the state’s most wanted fugitives last year, with tipsters earning $41,000 in rewards for information leading to arrests.
The Texas Department of Public Safety announced that the 2025 captures included 28 convicted sex offenders and 13 criminal illegal aliens. While 62 arrests occurred within Texas borders, authorities also apprehended fugitives in Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Mexico. More information on each captured individual is available in the DPS captured fugitive archive.
“Texas is a law-and-order state, and the Texas Department of Public Safety is committed to working with our law enforcement partners and the public to keep it that way,” said Criminal Investigations Division Chief Floyd Goodwin.
The arrested criminal illegal aliens represented six different nationalities. Mexico led with five captures, followed by Honduras with three, El Salvador with two, and one each from Iraq, Cuba, and Cameroon.
Anonymous tipsters played a crucial role in the program’s success. Eleven individuals received reward payments totaling $41,000 for providing information that directly led to arrests.
The Texas 10 Most Wanted Program, funded by the Governor’s Public Safety Office, targets fugitives who pose the greatest threat to public safety.
Citizens can earn rewards by submitting tips through three methods: calling 1-800-252-TIPS, visiting the DPS website, or messaging the program’s Facebook page. All tips remain anonymous, with tipsters receiving tracking numbers instead of providing names.
The 2025 operations involved an extensive network of law enforcement partners. Participating agencies ranged from local police departments to federal organizations, including ICE, FBI, and U.S. Marshals task forces across multiple regions.
The program continues seeking public assistance in locating current fugitives whose photos and information are available on the DPS website.
