A teenager was killed in a car crash after being shot in Pleasant Grove on May 6.

The Dallas Police Department received a call regarding a shooting in the 1200 block of North Masters Drive. When officers arrived, they found 19-year-old Andrew Patterson in the wrecked vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. His vehicle crashed into two other cars and hit a building at the apartment complex before striking a gas line.

The collision had caused a gas leak, and an emergency team from Atmos Energy had been dispatched to turn off the gas to the building.

Patterson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers also found a juvenile who had been shot on the other side of the apartment complex. He was taken to a hospital.

Police are treating the juvenile, whose name was not released due to his age, as a suspect in the alleged drug-related shooting. It is unclear at this time what charges the minor is facing.
