A man was fatally shot in Oak Cliff early Sunday morning during an attempted robbery.

Around 12:04 a.m. on May 9, Dallas Police arrived at the Cantera Crossing Apartments located at 2727 West Jefferson Boulevard. There, they found 25-year-old Eric Montez lying in the parking lot of the apartments, suffering from a gunshot wound.
