A child was left wounded following a drive-by shooting Monday night in Fort Worth.

Fort Worth Police responded to a shooting call on March 28, just after 10 p.m. at the 5000 block of Vinson Street near East Lancaster Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a child who appeared to have been shot.

The unidentified victim was transported to Cook Children’s Medical Center and is believed to be in good condition.

The Fort Worth Police Gang Unit is investigating the shooting. At this time, no suspects are in custody.

The shooting was not the first to take place in DFW on Monday, nor the first to involve a child.

In Dallas, police are investigating a separate incident that left a 3-year-old boy fatally shot earlier the same day, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

The two shootings occurred within nearly 12 hours of each other.
