A man was shot and injured in an apparent road rage incident Tuesday evening, Fort Worth police said.

Police were dispatched at about 7:06 p.m. for a call involving a shooting at a 7-Eleven in the 1100 block of the northbound service road of South Freeway near Rosedale Street.

The Fort Worth Fire Department and MedStar also responded to the call.

The victim told police that the suspect drove a dark-colored sedan and discharged a firearm, striking the victim in the head, after a traffic incident that did not involve a crash.

The suspect then drove away in the same vehicle.

The victim is in stable condition at John Peter Smith Hospital.

Police said the Fort Worth Police Department’s Gang Unit will oversee the investigation.

Dallas recently saw a similar road rage incident on the Central Expressway, as previously reported by The Dallas Express. Crime in Dallas increased by 1.5% in 2022 compared to the previous year, as the city council and other political leaders declined to prioritize law enforcement and public safety.
